Why God Makes Us Wait

I’ve heard that God at all times solutions prayer. Sometimes the reply is “Yes.” Sometimes it’s “No.” And typically it’s “Wait.”

There was a time when God’s reply to my prayer was “Wait.” I didn’t actually hear, although. I figured I may make all of it occur by myself. I went out and made one silly choice after one other to get what I wished, till I used to be so removed from God, I didn’t know learn how to get again.

Maybe you’ve achieved this earlier than. Maybe you might be there proper now.

Don’t fear. God is there. He was ready for me to come back again to him. As quickly as I turned my eye again on God, his arms have been open, able to embrace me.

It was throughout this time that I understood why God had me wait within the first place. This is a bit of embarrassing however perhaps apparent: my ego and satisfaction wanted reigning in. Yes, I assumed I may make all of it occur by myself—with out God. Like a toddler throwing a tantrum, I stomped my toes and mentioned, “If you won’t do it, I’ll do it!”

I began to know that ready was for me, not for God. Waiting was for me to be taught to give up to the need of God and to be taught to belief him. That time after I waited skilled me to be the one that may deal with all that I requested.

My good friend Sarah calls this “good parenting.” I snigger aloud when she says this, as a result of it’s completely true. My personal kids ask for issues that I’ve no intention of giving them proper now. To achieve this wouldn’t be smart. It isn’t that I don’t wish to give them good issues; it’s as a result of I do know they don’t have the maturity, information, understanding, or knowledge to have the issues they request. I can see extra of the massive image than they will.

Yes, God is the most effective Father. He is aware of all of this. And right here’s the factor: after I lastly surrendered myself to God’s will, after I lastly rested in ready and trusted him, what he had in retailer for me was so significantly better than what I had deliberate and hoped for myself.

Maybe you might be on this area proper now. I encourage you to “wait for the LORD; / be strong, and let your heart take courage.” (Psalm 27:14) Your Father is aware of what’s finest for you.
